EuroMillions jackpot ticket binned by hubby
Posted: December 24, 2010 at 9:24 amAn unnamed lady from the Coventry area was thrilled to realise she was a winner in the £113 million jackpot but soon devastated when her hubby had to admit he had probably binned the ticket. The truly astounding fact here is that the husband knew where the bin was and had used it lotto. How many women have to nag their spouses to deal with the bin and this poor gentleman gets in hot water for being proactive. I bet he had to look in the said bin for his dinner for a few days after that!
The couple are both in their 70s and it is reported that she does the National Lottery, Thunderball and EuroMillions every week always carefully jotting down her chosen numbers and passing on the tickets to her husband for safekeeping euro millions. Maybe this was passing the buck a little. Imagine the poor man’s desperation when he failed to find them and the prospect of thirty days searching for them.
The shopkeeper where the tickets were purchased was able to confirm that the numbers were indeed winning ones, adding fuel to the fire, but all may not be lost daily play. A spokesman for Camelot is reported to have said that a winner could be confirmed by checking the time and point of the ticket sale Lottery results. Fingers crossed for the star crossed couple and a timely reminder to the rest of us to guard those tickets with our lives lest we lose both the ticket and then our lives to a thwarted winner.
